To the members of the Nepal Radiological Society and Guests:
What would you want your Society to do for you and your Profession?
The question that I am asked all the time when I meet members is "What does the Nepal radiological society(NRS)do for me?" What I find interesting is that most members have no idea what we do for them nor do they seem to care. Unfortunately, I feel that this is our fault.
I feel the best reason to join NRS is that it provides us with a voice and muscle. Without that voice and muscle, our specialty would long ago have been sliced and diced up by anybody possessing a radiology machine. As it stands now, this very situation is one of our gravest challenges. That is, how do we maintain excellence in Diagnosis in an environment where everyone is opening up imaging and Diagnostic centres of unknown quality? Furthermore, how do we get payers to recognize this?
This is what we need to discuss with our colleagues and I hope this website would be a good plateform for Such discussion.
As I have said and I will say again, how important, exciting, challenging, and rewarding our profession is. Imaging has truly revolutionized the practice of medicine in less than a generation. It is a critical part of nearly every hospital patient’s admission today and we believe that this technology has the ability to improve our patients’ health.
It is our members who make a difference in the lives of patients that receive imaging. Members give their valuable time to advance the concerns and positions of our profession to the benefit of the patients and communities we serve. Your financial contributions to the Society in the form of Registration etc makes our efforts possible.
We continue to face challenges that require your support and participation. If you have concerns or ideas, please share them with anyone of us.
